I havent had a dog of my own in a long time, but recently Ive been looking through the old photo albums. I found a picture of my moms old dog, Onyx, from before I was born.
I intended on making a serious portrait Onyx but half way through inking her face I accidentally dragged my pen across the page. Smart me, Huhh. After reciting a couple of choice words that shouldnt be repeated I added the hat. Then the scarf. It worked and Mom seemed to like it but I still want to do a more serious portrait of Onyx.
This piece was done in traditional pan and ink on a piece of 11 by 14 Bristol paper, and I must say black fur is a blast in ink.
lol... way to make something out of a mistake! I think it looks great I can understand it must have been a lil annoying if you were intending a straight portrait. Will you do another?
I think I am planning on doing another. Hopefully one that looks more realistic. Although mom saw this one and immediately knew who it was of. I didn't tell her. lol
