In my attempts to get back to my drawing I’ve found that I’ve been doodling cartoons of my very obese cat, Mikey. Some of the cartoons crack my family up. They might lead to bigger better pictures. (So far, at least, one is being made.)

In other cat news, a friend of mine has a cat that is having kittens in a month. I don’t know all of the details, but we might be taking one in. Mikey is staying with my parents as he is too old to be moved somewhere, and too naturally paranoid. I don’t want him to make himself sick with stress. We almost lost him a few years ago when we moved because he stressed himself out so bad with the strain of just being in a new place and had made himself very ill. He’s healthy now, just fat. Lol

So we are slowly getting ready for a kitten. We’ve got a few name ideas set aside but figure we’ll wait and see if the kitten names it’s self.

Also, if anyone is interested, I’m slowly putting together a novel for myself and myself alone, It probably will not be sold anywhere or finished at any time soon, but if anyone is interested, I’ll post small excerpts up as I finish them. So far things are only just in planning stages and I’m working on developing the mane characters that are based highly off of my and my best friends though with different names.

P.S. Kim Harrison’s book, ‘For a Few Demons More.’ I’m now waiting to buy the paper back of her latest release ‘The Outlaw Demon Wails’ while reading Harry Potter and skimming through Jennet Evonavich’s latest, Plum Lucky. (No. I must hate books.)

Yeah, artist block has a firm grip on me. I want so badly to sketch, but when I actually pick up pencil and paper all ideas run from me and I cannot draw a thing. :(

Yeah. I think the reason Mikey has ended up in my random sketches is I sit down and just start moving the pencil across my page. I don't let it stop moving. (Kind of like a technique writers use to come up with more ideas to clear their heads) It results in a lot of designs and random objects and of course scribbles but eventually I find myself forming things out of the scribbles.

A definit thing with that name choosing. My guinea pig I had several years ago had a T across her face in her markings and the name Trink came to me, so it stuck.

Mikey's name is actually short for Mystro but Mikey seems to fit him better in the last few years. He comes to both either way. Mikey just use to sit next to me while I played the piano. Thus a name like Mystro only spelled oddly.

similar thing happened with my housemate's most recent cat. She was called Spider as a kitten, but Tiny Tot became her nickname, then her actual name... it just suited her better.

Awww. lol. That's really cute.

I've known several cats thanks to my connections with horses and people needed help taking care of them, and I've tamed several of them for others. Most of the time they end up naming them selves.

what would the target audience be for the story?
~SpottedPegasus:iconSpottedPegasus: Apr 7, 2008, 7:22:33 AM
probably older teens to adult. Another reason why I wouldn't want to get it published. I'd rather work with children's books but it would be nice to write something just for myself and friends.

In this publishing world you tend to get to be known for the first things you do. mixing things up confuses people.

The same is probably true of all cats with naming I feel. Because I was going to name my one cat Fiona, but her reactions towards our other cat Hester caused us to name her Pepper, since she is a little Pepper.
